We warmly invite you to experience Swiss National Day on August 1, 2025, at our Turrabuel holiday apartments in the Graubünden mountains. This national holiday is not only a celebration of Swiss tradition but also an opportunity to enjoy the unique atmosphere of our region. Here, you’ll discover why Parpan and the Lenzerheide holiday region are the perfect place to celebrate this special day and how your stay in our comfortable holiday apartments will become unforgettable.
On August 1, Switzerland celebrates the founding of the Swiss Confederation in 1291 – a day filled with pride, community, and tradition. In the Lenzerheide holiday region, which includes Parpan, this day is marked with a variety of events, ranging from heartfelt village festivals to cultural highlights. From Malix to Lain, there are numerous occasions that delight both locals and guests alike.
A special highlight in Parpan is the traditional Summer Night Festival, held on July 31. Starting at 7:00 PM, Parpan’s businesses and associations pamper you with delicious food and drinks, while the party band Alpenflieger ensures top entertainment and a lively atmosphere. This festival is a wonderful prelude to National Day and offers the perfect opportunity to experience local hospitality.
In Lenzerheide, the August 1st Children’s Festival attracts families with children. Here, the little ones can get creative with traditional lantern-making and meet the popular Globi. The highlight is the atmospheric lantern procession at 9:30 PM, which captivates young and old alike.
For a relaxed start to the day, we recommend the August 1st Brunch in Churwalden, where a rich breakfast buffet and musical entertainment by the Wisler Buaba await you.
Another highlight is the Federal Celebration in Lantsch/Lenz, where a public concert by the Uniaun da musica Lantsch creates a musical ambiance, accompanied by a festival tavern. In Zorten, you can also enjoy the traditional National Day celebration with the Älplerchörli Obervaz and the alphorn group of the music society – an evening full of coziness and Swiss tradition.
Important: A year-round fireworks ban is in place throughout the municipality of Vaz/Obervaz (Lenzerheide, Valbella, Lain, Muldain, Zorten) and in Lantsch/Lenz. To protect the peace of residents, holiday guests, and animals, we kindly ask you to refrain from using noisy fireworks and opt for silent ground fireworks instead. Setting off fireworks near forests is strictly prohibited.
